Intended Audience: School Transportation Personnel, Special Education Personnel and CPS Technicians

The presentation will provide a discussion of recent case law and current legislation and regulations about student transportation.  The presentation will discuss both established and evolving laws that effect the establishment and apportionment of liability when injuries occur in a student transportation environment.  In this session you will learn the basics of tort and contract liability, municipal immunity, the common actions that arise when bad things happen, and how to establish best practices in risk management related to student transportation.  The presentation will be followed by a Q&A session.  Rich Kelly is the founder of RC Kelly Law Associates, a firm that provides legal services to school bus contractors across the country.
