Target’s Car Seat Trade-In Returns April 27th through May 10th

Target’s popular car seat trade-in event is back for spring 2025.  The trade-in program returns Sunday, April 27 and runs through Saturday, May 10. When the event starts, you’ll be able to take old car seats to your local Target and place them in the designated box. You will be invited to scan the QR code on the box with your phone, and prompted to “Add to Target Circle Bonus.” The bonus, which will apply to a new car seat or baby gear will appear in the Wallet tab of your Target app.

    • The car seat trade-in program allows the trade in of old car seats for a 20% off Target Circle™ Bonus toward a new car seat, car seat base, travel system, stroller or select baby home gear. Select baby home gear includes play yards, highchairs, swings, rockers, bouncers, walkers, entertainers and jumpers. 
    • Target will accept and recycle infant car seats, convertible car seats, car seat bases, harness or booster seat car seats, including car seats that are expired or damaged.  
    • Car seats can only be traded in by taking them to a Target store. Target will have drop-off boxes for the unwanted car seats located near Guest Services. There will be signs near the drop-off boxes for customers to scan from their mobile device into their Circle. Upon scanning, the customer will receive one bonus per Target Circle account. The bonus will stay in your Wallet until you use it twice or it expires. 
    • The bonus can be applied to both in-store and online purchases and is valid April 27 through May 24, 2025. This bonus can be combined with other item offers. This bonus is redeemable twice. 
    • The 20% off Target Circle™ Bonus excludes Wonderfold, Doona, items sold and shipped by Target Plus and clearance. 
    • All stores, with the exception of select small format stores, are participating. Contact your local store for more info. 
    • Car seats that are traded in will be recycled by Target’s partners to create new products such as pallets, plastic buckets, construction materials such as steel beams and carpet padding, etc.
