Recall Information

Evenflo Company, Inc. (Evenflo) is recalling certain Transitions 3-in-1 Combination Booster Seats. The central front adjuster (CFA) button that is used to loosen the car seat’s internal harness may be within the child’s reach, allowing the child to activate the CFA and loosen the internal harness. If the internal harness is not tightened snugly around the child, there is an increased risk of injury in the event of a crash. Evenflo will notify owners and provide a remedy kit that includes a newly-designed seat pad and CFA assembly, free of charge. Owners may contact Evenflo at www.transitions.evenflo.com or 1-800-233-5921. Note: This safety issue only impacts the use of the seat in the forward-facing harnessed booster (22-65 lbs. and 28-50 in.) configuration.

To determine if your child’s seat is included in this recall and to order a remedy kit, please provide your car seat’s model number and date of manufacture here or call us at Evenflo’s ParentLink Consumer Resource Center at 1-800-233-5921, Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m.-5 p.m. Eastern Standard Time. Please do not return your child’s Transitions seat to retailers.

Evenflo is providing a remedy kit that will virtually eliminate a child’s access and activation of the CFA. The remedy kit includes a replacement bottom seat pad, CFA assembly and installation instructions. For additional guidance on installing the replacement parts, Evenflo has provided installation videos in English and Spanish. View the English video hereView the Spanish video here.

Before receipt of your remedy kit, Evenflo recommends consumers pay attention to whether their child is accessing the CFA area. Children who do not show an interest in gaining access to this area are not at risk of the CFA being activated, and the Transitions car seat may be used safely in harnessed mode until the remedy kit is installed. If your child is accessing the CFA area prior to receipt of the remedy kit, the Transitions car seat may be safely used in either high-back or no-back belt-positioning modes with children who are at least 40 pounds and 43.3 inches. If a child does not meet the size requirements for use of Transitions as a belt-positioning booster seat and is also gaining access to the CFA area, Evenflo recommends that you discontinue use of the Transitions 3-in-1 combination booster seat until the remedy kit is installed.

Evenflo is conducting this voluntary recall in coordination with the U.S National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (“NHTSA”).
