Evenflo Recalling Certain LiteMax 30 Infant Car Seat with Incorrect Weight and Height Limits in the Spanish Version of the Instruction Manual

Recalls

Consumers who did not receive the correct instructions would not have ready access to accurate information about the correct use of the child restraint, increasing the risk of injury in the event of a crash.

Recall Information

Evenflo Company, Inc. (Evenflo) is recalling certain LiteMax Factory Select car seats with model number CS100111198 manufactured between November 1, 2024 and January 28, 2026. In the Spanish language version of the product instructions, the weight and height limitations are stated incorrectly. The correct range (as specified on the product labels, packaging, English language instructions and the cover of the Spanish language instructions) is 3 to 30 lbs. and 15.7 to 32 inches. In the interior of the Spanish language instructions, there is a graphic where the limitations are set forth as 4 to 35 lbs. and 17 to 32 inches. As such, these child seats fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 213, “Child Restraint Systems.”

Car SeatsModel NumberAffected Date Range
LiteMax Factory SelectCS10011119811/1/2024 to 1/28/2026

CONSEQUENCE:
Incorrect information in the manual may result in a child of greater weight or height then specified in the correct instructions be improperly secured, increasing the risk of injury in the event of a crash.

Identification of any warning that can occur:

The inaccuracy resulted from an error in the translation process when height and weight specifications were updated. The error is apparent if the relevant portion of the manual is compared to the labels or other materials associated with the product.

How do I know if my car seat is impacted? Parents and caregivers should look for the small white label with the model number and date of manufacture. If the information on their car seat matches the impacted model number (CS100111198) and manufacture dates (November 1, 2024 to January 28, 2026), then it was shipped with the version of the instructions which contain the error.
