Evenflo All4One 4-in-1 Convertible Child Seat Recall

Recalls

Evenflo Company, Inc. (Evenflo) is recalling certain All4One child seats. manufactured between January 2022 and June 2024. In rear-facing mode, the adjustable recline mechanism may shift out of proper position. Parents and caregivers may continue to use the car seat, including in rear-facing mode. However, when the seat is used rear-facing, it is prudent to take care to prevent any passenger from inserting their fingers into the recline mechanism.

Recall Information

Evenflo Company, Inc. (Evenflo) is voluntarily recalling certain models of the All4One 4-in-1 convertible car seat manufactured between January 2022 and June 2024. During testing, Evenflo found that when the seat is used rear-facing, the seat may shift from one recline position to another. As such, these child seats fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 213, “Child Restraint Systems.”

Evenflo is voluntarily recalling certain All4One 4-in-1 convertible car seats after testing showed that when the seat is used rear-facing, the seat may shift from one recline position to another during a crash. There have been no reports of injuries, and the issue does not negatively impact protection for a child secured in the car seat.  There may, however, be a risk of pinching if an adjacent passenger places their hands and/or fingers in the reclining mechanism when it is being used in rear-facing mode. Families with impacted seats who have registered their product will be contacted directly and offered an equivalent replacement car seat at no cost. Those who have not yet registered can do so at https://www.evenflo.com/pages/product-registration to receive updates and next steps.

CONSEQUENCE:
A child seat that does not maintain proper recline position may not adequately secure a child in a crash, increasing the risk of injury. Additionally, should another passenger put their hand in the recline mechanism when it shifts out of position, their risk of injury is increased. If the child restraint changes its recline position in a crash, a vehicle occupant adjacent to the child restraint is at risk of injury if their fingers are inside the opening above the recline indicator.

Can the All4One car seat continue to be used?

Yes. You may continue to use your car seat, including in rear-facing mode. Because the issue occurs only in rear-facing mode, anyone sitting next to the car seat should keep hands and fingers away from the recline mechanism while the seat is in use to avoid possible pinching. To help mitigate this risk, you may fold a small towel inside the recline mechanism to fill in the open space. See images below, the small towel is seen in the picture on the bottom of the car seat.

REMEDY:

Evenflo will replace the child seat, free of charge. Because the recalled products are out of production, replacements will be of a different design not susceptible to the identified noncompliance. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed beginning January 26, 2026.

Does the car seat need to be returned?

No. Do not return the car seat. It is safe to continue using it while you wait for replacement information, as long as hands and fingers are kept away from the recline mechanism when the seat is used rear-facing.
