Dorel Juvenile Group – Maxi Cosi Coral XP

Recalls

Dorel Juvenile Group (Dorel) is recalling certain Maxi-Cosi Coral XP Rear-Facing Infant Seats.

Recall Information

Dorel Juvenile Group (Dorel) is recalling certain Maxi-Cosi Coral XP Rear-Facing Infant Seats with model number IC313. The child seat inner carrier is not sufficient to restrain a child without the use of the outer carrier. The inner carrier design and labeling of the Coral XP’s inner carrier are labeled as a child restraint system. Coral XP’s child restraint system cannot be installed into a vehicle without the use of the outer carrier, which is a supplemental device. As such, all Coral XP models fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 213, “Child Restraint Systems”.

Until Dorel can provide Coral XP owners a refund or replacement car seat remedy, the inner carrier of the Coral XP may continue to be used when attached to the outer carrier and the outer carrier is installed with or without the base using the vehicle belt restraint system, consistent with the existing instruction booklet and labels.
